GRIMSEL-Eldorado - Motörhead 13 sl VII P3/P4 -August 2013

one of the top 100 routes of Alpes

First time in Switzerland for me, 2 days before we did Campanile Basso, at Dolomites of Brenda, Italy, and Nontas wanted to leave for Grimsel the next day, I thought it was a joke, but it wasn't...

We drove in snaky narrow roads for more than 9 hours and when we arrived, it was cloudy, wet and covered with green mold (?). 

We did some indroduction climbs that actually went great (except a hammer that passed beside as on a belay- and in case you are not aware, object and stones on granite don't follow gravity, they go wherever they like)

And this sunny morning, we had a goal -Eldorado, Motorhead -one of the top 100 routes of Alpes

We start walking , still tired as we have climbed  every day of the last week. The approach took as around two hours, the landscape was magical, but my legs were week

It was a relief to get ready for climbing and all the tireness goes away 

There is a couple some pitches above as-we keep climbing in a good mood

Mythical route, the cracks are beautiful and for the landscape there are not enough words to describe

Lucky me , I was weight training during all winter, so I balanced my poor alpine experience with my strengh

We are getting closer to the couple above as that they seem stuck to the same place for an hour.

We reached them, they could not pass the crux, luckily Nontas can, he fixes their rope and they tope rop it. 

We get to know each other on our way back. A doctor from Milan and his wife they had as much fun as we did

The way back was long, we were exchausted, lucky as a Swiss chocolate was in the backpack
